Often, the first pieces of wedding jewellery chosen are the wedding rings; they are, after all, part of the ceremony itself, a symbol of your love and commitment and something you'll continue to wear every day of your marriage. While an incredibly important decision, there are also other items to consider, such as the: necklaces, bracelets and earrings for yourself and your bridesmaids; any heirloom pieces worn as part of your 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue'; and the cufflinks – and even watch – for your groom, his best man and groomsmen.

While many couples opt for traditional wedding bands and jewellery in yellow gold, unusual metals and designs are also becoming fashionable, as are exclusively-designed, bespoke pieces. When making the decision, its wise to not only consider your tastes and preferences but that any jewellery should complement your overall style on the day, not stand out as a statement. The only real thing to remember however, is that this is your wedding, so choose what is right for you!
