For many, many years it has been tradition to give gifts at weddings; not only do the happy couple present their wedding party with gifts and their guests with favours, but guests also toast the happy couple with a gift in return.

Until relatively recently, wedding gifts consisted of household items to help the new Mr and Mrs establish a home together. Nowadays, the majority of couples have already set up a home by the time they are married, leaving many to choose unusual ideas. Why not ask for your guests to contribute towards your honeymoon or open up a gift list with a department store? Just remember not to expect too much!
